Picnic Table Build & Pea-Gravel Pad in Jaffrey, NH
This Jaffrey project began with a picnic table built by Beechwood Handymen. Once the table was in the yard, the next improvement was a dedicated pea-gravel pad to give it a defined seating area.

From a table to a seating area
The completed picnic table initially sat on the lawn. We then returned for the pad project: an approximately 10-by-10-foot gravel area within the existing backyard. The before photographs below show the table already built, before the gravel was installed.
Preparing the pad
We moved the table, laid out the area, removed sod and soil to establish the footprint, and relocated the excavated material on the property. Landscape fabric and pea gravel formed the new surface, and the table was returned to the prepared space.
Working within the existing yard
Materials had to be moved by wheelbarrow from the gate to the work area. Careful layout kept the improvement focused on the seating space and its relationship to the surrounding lawn, garden, and shed.
The finished result
The Beechwood-built table now sits within its own gravel area. Together, the carpentry and the prepared pad give the yard a practical place to gather. The gallery runs from the table on the lawn to the finished gravel seating area.
