A kitchen sink pulling away from the countertop is the kind of problem you notice every time you use it. This Charlestown repair focused on the existing undermount sink, its support, and the joint beneath the countertop.

The problem—and the visible change

Before · Open gapBefore repair: a visible open gap between the stainless undermount sink rim and the dark countertop in Charlestown, NH.
The sink rim had separated from the underside of the countertop, leaving a clearly visible opening.
After · Repaired jointAfter repair: the sink rim sits against the countertop with a continuous sealed joint in Charlestown, NH.
The gap closed after reinstalling the sink.

Added support beneath the sink

The original attachment had failed, allowing the sink to pull away from the countertop. We added an alternative wood support beneath the sink to help hold it securely in place.

We also removed the failed sealant and reinstalled the existing sink with suitable sealant.
