A pellet stove installation has to account for how the appliance fits the space and how the customer will use it. In Bennington, Beechwood Handymen installed a customer-supplied stove with a raised platform, wall protection, venting, and an outside-air connection.

The challenge

The stove was being installed in an existing garage, where a raised platform was necessary to meet code requirements for the installation. Its position and the route through the exterior wall had to be coordinated with the supporting work.

A platform with a practical purpose

We built the raised platform and hearth arrangement, installed wall protection, and fitted the stove and venting. The pad extends beyond the stove to give the customer room to stand and pour pellets into the hopper more easily. That extra space was a deliberate part of making the installation practical to use.

Putting a missed detail right

We initially missed a required cover at the intake vent. We returned and installed it. The close-up below shows the cover in place after that correction. Taking responsibility for a missed detail and putting it right is part of completing the work.

The finished result

The stove has a defined installation area, the raised support required for this garage setting, and additional room for filling it. The photos show the installation and its exterior connections, including the corrected intake cover.
